New research project will create knowledge about the potential for developing new innovative experiences in Danish coastal tourism. The project is a collaboration between a number of research institutions in Denmark and involves researchers from the ISE research group as well as researchers from the Center for Experience and Tourism Research at Roskilde University.

InnoCoast (Innovation in Coastal Tourism: Co-creating Competitive Experiences) is funded by the Danish ‘Innovationsfonden’ and is a collaboration between researchers from Ålborg university, Roskilde University, University of Southern Denmark, Copenhagen Business School and Center for Regional and Tourism Research. Additionally Visit Denmark, Dansk kyst og Natur Turisme, as well as Feriehusudlejernes Brancheforening are partners in the project.

Among other things the project will focus on new business models, collaboration networks, and experience designs that can develop nature-, culture- and gastro-tourism. The project will also develop suggestions about how local entrepreneurs can exploit the sharing economy and new digital solutions.

Jon Sundbo, Lars Fuglsang, Jens Friis Jensen and Flemming Sørensen represent the research group of Innovation in Service and Experience (ISE). From the Center for Experience and Tourism Research at Roskilde University, in addition to the above three researchers, Jane Meged and Jørgen Ole Bærenholdt also participate.
